Title: [Selected aspects of endonasal paranasal sinus surgery]. Author: Reiss M. Journal: Wien Med Wochenschr; 1998; 148(20):469-73. PubMed ID: 10025051. Abstract: The specific diagnosis and surgical treatment of chronic sinusitis or nasal polyposis has been developed distinctly in the last decade. Today rigid and flexible endoscopy of the nose and paranasal sinuses is a necessary tool in every ear-nose-and-throat-office. Diagnosis and conservative treatment in acute inflammatory, chronic hyperplastic and polypoid diseases of the nose and paranasal sinuses as well as in functional endonasal surgery require telescopes. In the conservative therapy glucocorticoids play a dominant role. The topical application of steroids is preferred. Successful functional endonasal surgery demands postsurgical treatment and endoscopic follow-up.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
