Title: OSHA safety requirements for hazardous chemicals in the workplace. Author: Dohms J. Journal: Radiol Manage; 1992; 14(4):76-80. PubMed ID: 10123093. Abstract: This article outlines the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements set forth by the Hazard Communication Standard, which has been in effect for the healthcare industry since 1987. Administrators who have not taken concrete steps to address employee health and safety issues relating to hazardous chemicals are encouraged to do so to avoid the potential of large fines for cited violations. While some states administer their own occupational safety and health programs, they must adopt standards and enforce requirements that are at least as effective as federal requirements.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
