Title: Healthcare reform stews in Congressional pressure cooker. Author: Noble LE. Journal: Healthc Financ Manage; 1992 Jan; 46(1):20-2, 24, 26-8 passim. PubMed ID: 10145558. Abstract: The United States Congress responded to Americans' healthcare worries with more than 30 healthcare reform proposals in 1991. Each bill falls into one of three camps: incremental approaches that favor improvements in the current system, employer-based programs, and single-payer programs, which would funnel all funds through a public administrator. Although major reform is unlikely to pass through Congress in the next year, knowing the details of proposals from Congress and other groups helps provide a framework for discussion of healthcare reform.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
