Title: Taking an alternative risk. Author: Sveska KJ. Journal: Mich Health Hosp; 1998; 34(6):26-7. PubMed ID: 10187139. For purposes of this article, it is assumed that alternative medicines are nonprescription (over-the-counter [OTC]) food supplements, vitamins, herbs or other substances contained in commercially available products. Many of these products are sold in pharmacies or health food stores and have not been clinically tested or do not have a scientific basis for the use for which they are recommended.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
