Title: [Effectiveness of nondrug treatment of chronic bronchitis in persons exposed to radiation due to Chernobyl AES accident]. Author: Tkachishin VS. Journal: Ter Arkh; 1999; 71(3):24-8. PubMed ID: 10234759. Abstract: AIM: Assessment of efficacy of combined treatment of chronic bronchitis (CB) in subjects exposed to radiation after the Chernobyl accident including nonpharmacological (NP) modalities vs conventional chemotherapy (CT). MATERIALS AND METHODS: 149 patients with different forms of CB in exacerbation were divided into 2 groups. The study group of 62 patients received NP + CT. Control group of 87 patients received CT alone. The response was judged by achievement of partial or complete remission, general condition score, external respiration function. RESULTS: The combined treatment significantly more frequently (p < 0.05) led to CB remission, more marked improvement of the patient's condition. External respiration improved insignificantly. CONCLUSION: NP in combined treatment of CB exacerbation improved the treatment results.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
