    As a sizable dollar investment, a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) facility must be operated efficiently to achieve initial expectations. A recent survey has indicated that patient volume management is the critical factor affecting profitability. Based on the survey findings, this article identifies factors that affect an MRI site's efficiency, suggests corrective measures and discusses staffing requirements.
