    Abstract:
    We propose to eliminate an inaccuracy in the application of the formula used to calculate payment for the indirect costs of medical education for hospitals under the prospective payment system. In doing so, we are not proposing to change the basic method of estimating the effect of graduate medical education on hospital operating costs.
