Abstract: Ventilator-associated pneumonia is the most common infectious respiratory complication in intensive care unit patients, particularly those needing mechanical ventilation. Ventilator-associated pneumonia represents a challenging problem in terms of diagnosis, treatment, and prevention. Nosocomial sinusitis is another respiratory infection, not uncommon in mechanically ventilated patients.
