  • Title: [The effect of intrabronchial specific immunotherapy on certain immunologic parameters in asthmatic patients with allergic to house mites].
    Author: Zietkowski Z.
Journal: Pol Merkur Lekarski; 1999 May; 6(35):236-8. PubMed ID: 10437389.
    Abstract:
The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of intrabronchial specific immunotherapy (SIT) on chosen immunological parameters in asthmatic patients sensitised to house dust mites. No statistically significant changes in the allergen induced basophil histamine release and in the serum levels of specific IgE and IgG4 have been shown. In contrast it has been demonstrated statistically significant increase of secretory IgA in saliva of patients who have undergone the immunotherapy. A decrease in the serum concentration of ECP has been shown after the course of SIT.
