Title: [Prolonged nasotracheal intubation in the treatment of respiratory tract scarring stenosis in children]. Author: Soldatskiĭ IuL, Onufrieva EK, Ponkratenko AD. Abstract: Prolonged nasotracheal intubation lasting 24-153 days was applied for treatment of 12 children with forming and already established scarry stenosis of the respiratory tracts. The children had not previously undergone tracheotomy. The age of the children varied from 20 months to 7 years. Two thirds of them were admitted at the age under 3. Nine patients have developed stenosis after intubation for acute stenosing laryngotracheobronchitis. The treatment provided rather wide lumen of the respiratory tract in 10 patients.
