    Abstract:
    The studies were carried out in the years 1995-97. From the group of 1000 diabetic patients (railway workers) of the Lublin Railway Health Service, 160 persons were chosen at random. They were interviewed in order to recognise their knowledge of the disease they suffered from and which could contribute to the prevention of diabetes in this occupational group. The studies revealed that the desired knowledge was lacking among the diabetic railway workers who did not show any interest in increasing their awareness in this regard.
