Title: [Genetic markers of hypertension]. Author: Chistiakov DA, Turakulov RI. Journal: Genetika; 1999 May; 35(5):565-73. PubMed ID: 10495944. Abstract: Essential hypertension is a widespread multifactorial pathology which is probably controlled by numerous genes. Twenty to forty percent of hypertension may be genetically determined. In this review, polymorphism of three group of candidate genes is analyzed. Products of these genes are most likely involved in hypertension development. These are the genes controlling the renin-angiotensin system, ionic channels, and nitric oxide system and NO-synthase.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
