Abstract: The results of a study involving the treatment of pain syndromes by electrical stimulation in 98 patients are reported. Advantages and disadvantages of three electrostimulation techniques--transcutaneous stimulation, peripheral nerve stimulation, and dorsal cord stimulation--are discussed.
