  • Title: Hard end-points for GH replacement therapy: report from an interactive discussion of bone status and cardiovascular function in GH-deficient adults.
    Author: Jørgensen JO.
Journal: Growth Horm IGF Res; 1998 Feb; 8 Suppl A():63-7. PubMed ID: 10993594.
    Abstract:
To stimulate debate and promote interaction between the audience and speakers, an interactive session entitled "Controversies in GH Replacement Therapy" was held at the 4th International hGH Symposium on GH Deficiency in Adults in September 1997 in Copenhagen, Denmark. The audience was asked to vote "yes" or "no" to a number of questions pertaining to the effects of growth hormone (GH) substitution in GH deficiency in adults on bone and cardiovascular function, respectively. This was followed by "pro" and "con" presentations on GH after which the audience gave their second and final vote (answer) to the initial questions. The designated "pro" and "con" speakers were selected on the basis of their scientific contributions within the relevant field rather than their personal beliefs. This is a report of the interactive session.
