    Abstract:
Long-term results of the developed variant of sphincter-saving operation in distal cancer of the rectum were analyzed. The patients were operated at the age of 50-70 years. Local spread of tumor didn't exceed T2-stage, if the tumor located 3 cm from the serrate line of the anal canal. Inclusion of complete sphincterotomy in perineal stage of operation for most radical surgery and also the complex of technical approaches, eliminating negative consequences of sphincterotomy, was the features of abdominal-anal resection. 69% from the all examined patients survived 5 years and more. Functional outcomes were evaluated. Some results of developed operation allow to recommend this variant for clinical use.
