Abstract: Lumbar hernias occur infrequently; however, after trauma, they can present challenging problems in management. Unlike congenital or primary acquired lumbar hernias, posttraumatic lumbar hernias result from a disruption in normal anatomic boundaries and may require extensive reconstruction.
