  • Title: The biomechanics of maxillofacial trauma.
    Author: Nahum AM.
Journal: Clin Plast Surg; 1975 Jan; 2(1):59-64. PubMed ID: 1116327.
    Abstract:
Current advances in vehicle design include nonlacerative windshields and energy-absorbing instrument panels and interior structures. In order to prevent more severe injuries, it may be necessary to accept minor soft tissue trauma and nasal fractures, but it should be possible to prevent almost all other facial trauma at reasonable impact speeds.
