    Abstract:
    Summaries of recent out-of-court settlements in HIV discrimination lawsuits are provided. HIV discrimination suits are costly and the awards do not usually take into consideration the employer's other costs, such as attorney's fees and lost production time. The out-of-court settlements also involve non-monetary consequences and actions, such as staff awareness education and training, policy changes, and modifications to health and life insurance coverage.
