    Abstract:
    The U.S. Supreme Court let stand a ruling that the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) does not apply to the content of insurance plans. [Name removed] v. Metropolitan Life Insurance involved an employee whose benefits were terminated after two years because she had a mental illness; the plan would have covered her to age 65 if the ailment had been physical. The ruling gives insurers the opportunity to exclude certain types of disabilities from coverage or cap the duration of benefits.
