  • Title: Pregnancy danger.
Journal: Posit Aware; 1998; 9(5):18. PubMed ID: 11365886.
    Abstract:
The Pediatric AIDS Clinical Trials Group (PACTG) has discontinued enrollment of women into four pregnancy trials that use protease inhibitors. Retrospective studies have found a high number of premature births in women receiving protease inhibitor therapy. Women receiving Norvir (Ritonavir) in combination with AZT and Epivir had a high level of premature birth, with one infant dying 2 weeks after birth. Women receiving Viracept or Crixivan with the AZT and Epivir did not have premature deliveries.
