  • Title: The Osborne Association's AIDS in Prison Project.
    Journal: Newsline People AIDS Coalit N Y; 1998; ():37-40. PubMed ID: 11367478.
    Abstract:
The Osborne Association's AIDS in Prison Project works with the prison system, health care providers, and community-based organizations to achieve continuity of services for prisoners as they move from the general population, through the prison system, and then back to the general population. The early development of this program and its current status are outlined, and descriptions of the in-prison services provided by the project are explained, including transitional planning, HIV counseling and testing, referral and partner notification, prevention education, support services, and an AIDS/HIV prisoner hotline. Additional services address the needs of former prisoners and their families. A component of the project is the Living Well Program that provides help with case management for parolees and former prisoners living with AIDS and HIV.
