Title: [From veterinary companionship to veterinary consultation about dairy farms (by way of changing strategies in cattle practice)]. Author: Vollebregt RJ, Noordhuizen JP, van der Wal H. Journal: Tijdschr Diergeneeskd; 2001 Jul 01; 126(13):448-53. PubMed ID: 11458749. Abstract: Dairy herd health and production management programmes are used by veterinary practices as a daily routine. However, the potential of this increasingly important source of income is probably not realized completely. The activities of dairy herd health and production management programmes were assessed by both veterinarians and dairy farmers. Subsequently, plans were developed to make herd health and production management programmes beneficial to both parties. For this purpose it is necessary to change the former dairy herd health and production management programme into a more professionally oriented veterinary consultancy. This article describes how this change can be made. Defining the consultancy programme and working in a structured way are essential to gain profit from veterinary consultancy.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
