Abstract: We describe an 84-year-old woman who developed remitting seronegative symmetrical synovitis with pitting edema (RS3PE) associated with a subcutaneous abscess of the hand due to Streptobacillus moniliformis. Polyarthritis and edema were relieved after therapy with corticosteroids.
