    Abstract:
    A "Model Health-Care Consent Act," drafted at its 1982 annual meeting by the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws, is briefly described. The act deals with procedural, rather than substantive, issues. It designates which individuals may give consent for themselves, provides mechanisms for determining when an individual is incapable of consenting and for designating a substitute decision maker, and permits individuals or family members to delegate their consent authority to other persons.
