  • Title: [Sudden neurosensory hypoacusis: causes of onset and clinical features].
    Author: Ivanets IV.
Journal: Vestn Otorinolaringol; 2001; (5):11-5. PubMed ID: 11699083.
    Abstract:
The paper reports 86 cases of urgent hospitalization to the ENT clinic for hearing loss. Of them 32 patients had sudden neurosensory hypoacusis (SNH). The evidence obtained at pure-tone threshold audiometry, impedance audiometry and otoacoustic emission are analysed. Self-cure of SNH was observed in insignificant hearing loss. Mechanism of irreversible changes leading to persistent hypoacusis is suggested.
