    Abstract:
    Patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy can have varied clinical pathophysiologic courses, and there is no optimal treatment modality. The mechanisms that explain clinical symptoms in a patient are not well understood. Treatment modalities include drugs, pacemakers, and operative approaches. Genetic analyses ultimately may help identify patients at high risk for complications who will require a particular treatment strategy.
