Abstract: OBJECTIVE: To prevent post operative disturbauce of gastric emptying by pylorus-preserving pancreatoduodenectomy (PPPD). METHODS: 1. To preserve the vascular and nerve supply of gastric antrum, pylorus and duodenal bulb during operation. 2. To ensure long enough resection of duodenum from the pylorus. 3. To perform folding suture to shorten the hapatogastric ligament. RESULTS: In 15 cases of pancreatic and periampullar cancer so freated, neither residual cancer nor gastric emptying disorder was found after operation. The quality of life of the patients was improved. CONCLUSION: PPPD is a therapeutic choice for patients with pancreatic and peri-ampullar cancer.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
