Title: [Malignant brain tumors after radiation - glioblastomas after operation and radiation of meningiomas - 2 case reports]. Author: Feltz R, Schalldach U, Krüger J, Ruhashya R. Journal: Zentralbl Neurochir; 2001; 62(2):48-56. PubMed ID: 11786936. Abstract: The authors report 2 cases of glioblastomas subsequent to radiation of intracranial tumors. In the second case, a 52-year old women underwent operation of an atypical falcine meningioma and was irradiated postoperatively. - After radiation of meningiomas the development of glioblastomas is described as a rare complication in the literature. A literature analysis of 49 radiation induced tumors revealed that there was no correlation between the radiation dosage and time interval of appearance of the second tumor.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
