    Abstract:
    It is suggested that the quality standard for chest radiographs is lower than for other X-ray examinations and that a strictly comparable series of chest films is rare. The introduction of "fast" material is a major factor but of equal importance is the fact that radiologists and other doctors accept substandard chest films. Doctors in industry appear to be more critical of the technical quality.
