Title: Physician input: a critical strategic-planning tool. Author: Rovinsky M. Journal: Healthc Financ Manage; 2002 Jan; 56(1):36-8. PubMed ID: 11806316. Abstract: To establish effective working relationships with medical staff and community physicians, an IDS must adopt a strategic-planning approach that adequately incorporates physicians' needs and expectations. Research shows that most physicians considered the IDS's market position, the degree to which the IDS can offer physicians practice-enhancing capabilities, and physician involvement in IDS governance to be critical factors for the success of an IDS. By establishing a meaningful role for physicians in the organizational strategic-planning process, an IDS can significantly improve its market position and its relationships with physicians.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
