    Abstract:
    Injection of hydroxyurea induced degeneration of almost all the cells synthesizing DNA in the crypts of the jejunum and of only 10% of such cells in the epithelium of the glandular stomach in mouse. Inhibition of the DNA synthesis by hydroxyurea was complete in both tissues. Thus, the cells of the glandular stomach withstood inhibition of the DNA synthesis without and degeneration.
