Abstract: Denture base materials of the past and present are reviewed. Hypersensitivity stomatitis venenata is an uncommon cause of "denture sore mouth." Four cases are cited in evidence that acrylic dentures, even when heat cured, can produce a hypersensitivity type of stomatitis venenata.
