Abstract: Chickenpox during pregnancy is very uncommon and is known to cause fatal malformation during the first half of pregnancy. The infection during pregnancy is also associated with maternal morbidity and mortality. Furthermore, there may also be neonatal complications. Thus, any pregnant woman with Varicella infection should be hospitalized and followed-up closely.
