Title: [Liver metastases in colorectal carcinoma. With complete resection healing is possible]. Author: Eggstein S. Journal: MMW Fortschr Med; 2002 Feb 07; 144(6):25-7. PubMed ID: 11883042. Abstract: Surgical treatment of liver metastases from colorectal carcinoma can achieve 5-year survival rates of up to 40%, and 10 year survival rates of up to 20%, making resection the only potentially curative treatment option. This applies, however, only when metastatic disease is confined to the liver and when complete removal of the metastases is possible. Patients with liver metastases from non-colorectal primaries--with the exception of the rare neuroendocrine tumors--are not usually candidates for surgery.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
