    Abstract:
    In Vitro experiments with rat liver microsomes (difference spectra, p-nitroanisol-demethylation) and in vivo experiments with rats (tritium release from 3H-mestranol) suggest an inhibition of the metabolism of certain drugs (type-1-substrates) by competition for the binding site of cytochrome P-450 under anaesthesia with diethyl ether, halothane, enflurane and methoxyflurane.
