Title: Teratoma of the neck in a newborn: case report. Author: Ergete W, Bezabeh K. Journal: Ethiop Med J; 1998 Oct; 36(4):273-6. PubMed ID: 11957303. Abstract: Teratomas in the neck are rare neoplasms. Existing or potential airway obstruction is usually the main concern in acute management of these patients. A first case of cervical teratoma is described in an Ethiopian premature neonate born to an 18 year-old primigravida. The clinico-pathological features, including autopsy findings, are reviewed. Perinatal asphyxia secondary to huge neck teratoma is considered as the likely cause of death.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
