Title: Further evidence implicating E-type prostaglandins in the patency of the lamb ductus arteriosus. Author: Olley PM, Bodach E, Heaton J, Coceani F. Journal: Eur J Pharmacol; 1975 Nov; 34(1):247-50. PubMed ID: 11997. Abstract: A blocker of prostaglandin (PG) snythesis, indomethacin, given to pregnant ewes near term produces constriction of the lamb ductus arteriosus in utero. The result supports the hypothesis formulated previously that E-type prostaglandins, which are potent relaxant on the ductus, are responsible for maintaining the patency of the vessel during foetal life.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
