Title: Studies on Vasectomy. IX. Current status of reversible vas occlusion method. Author: Lee HY. Journal: Taehan Pinyogikwa Hakhoe Chapchi; 1972; 13(3):17-25. PubMed ID: 12179582. Abstract: 504 of 554 volunteers who underwent vasocclusion with an intravasal thread were followed up. Of these 174 men had 1 cm nylon threads inserted; 247 had 2 cm nylon threads and 83 had 2 cm silicone covered silk inserted. All of the men showed fewer than 7 million sperm per ml by 30 days after insertion. Of the 31 men who became zoospermic within 65 days of IVT insertion, 25 were wearing 1 cm nylon threads. Of the 42 volunteers in whom reversibility was studied, 83% showed motile sperm. 94% of the men remained azoospermic compared with a 99% rate for vasectomy. Future research should be directed toward studying the anatomy, physiology and biochemistry of the vas deferens.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
