    Abstract:
    OBJECTIVE: To investigate the chemical constituents of Tetrastigma hemsleyanum native to China. METHOD: Compounds were separated by column chronatography with silica gel and elucidated by chemical evidence and spectral analysis. RESULT: Four compounds were isolated from the petroleum ether extract. Their structures were identifies as taraxerone, taraxerol,beta-sitosterol and ergosterol. CONCLUSION: These compounds were isolated from the plant for the first time.
