    Abstract:
    This is the text of law No. 74-1026 of Dec 4 1975 regulating the sale and distribution of contraceptives in France, and the operations of family planning centers. Any contraceptive products or device cannot be put on the market without the approval of the Ministry of Health. Sale of contraceptives is to be done through pharmacies only, after presentation of a medical prescription. IUD insertion can be done by doctors only in a private or public hospital. Family planning centers can distribute contraceptives to minors with a medical prescription. Antinatal propaganda is forbidden, as is commercial advertising of contraceptives, unless in medical journals. Maternal-child health centers offer prenuptial, prenatal and postnatal services, child health services, sterility counseling, genetic counseling, and family planning counseling.
