Title: [Management and outcome of pregnancies associated with copper T Intrauterine contraceptive devices]. Journal: Bol Asoc Chil Prot Fam; ; 13(7-8):3. PubMed ID: 12229763. Abstract: This short article reports the results of a study conducted between 1970-1976 on 746 wearers of copper IUD who conceived with the device in situ. 465, or 58.3%, chose to have induced abortion; 113, or 14.2% had spontaneous abortion, and 27, or 3.1% had an ectopic pregnancy. Of the 275 women who chose to bring pregnancy to term, the IUD was removed or expelled in 118 cases. Extrauterine pregnancy has been demonstrated especially in women who had been wearing IUD for a long time; in such cases it would be advisable to remove the device, at least in the first trimester of pregnancy.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
