Title: Tetraplegia from trauma of the cervical spine in the absence of fractures and luxations. Author: Perna E, Petrone G, Liguori R, Serino D, De Rosa G, Calabrò A. Journal: J Neurosurg Sci; 1975; 19(3):171-5. PubMed ID: 1223247. Abstract: Spinal cord lesions are not infrequent in cervical traumas in absence of fractures and/or luxations. In hyperextension traumas conservative treatment is normally sufficient. In hyperflexion and unknowm mechanism traumas neurosurgical treatment is often necessary due to the frequency of a discal herniation. Myelography is indispensable for correct and complete diagnosis and for this reason its use is strongly recommended.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
