Title: Clinical evaluation of the combined multiload copper 250-mini IUD in selected nulliparous women. Author: Goldstuck ND. Journal: Contracept Deliv Syst; 1980 Oct; 1(4):379-87. PubMed ID: 12262141. Abstract: A total of 39 highly selected nulliparous women have undergone a total of 42 insertions of the ML CU 250-mini IUD. Only patients with a total uterine axial length of less than 6 cm or with an endometrial cavity length of less than 4 cm were studied. All the patients who had previously used a conventional medicated device had experienced problems with its use. After a minimum follow-up period of 6 months, there were 9 expulsions, 1 removal due to pain, 1 removal because of bleeding, and 2 cases where incidence of pelvic inflammatory disease were suspected. An investigation into the width-length characteristics of the ML Cu 250 range of devices suggest that the ML Cu 250-short device may have characteristics which deem it more suitable for this particular group of women.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
