Title: [Some demographic characteristics of the North Bohemian region]. Author: Zahalka J. Journal: Demografie; 1983; 25(3):209-20. PubMed ID: 12265516. Abstract: The demographic characteristics of the North Bohemian region of Czechoslovakia are examined. The mass exodus of Germans following World War II and the region's resettlement during 1946-1947 by predominately Czech in-migrants are noted, and the demographic implications of these changes are shown to affect the region to this day. Present characteristics include a relatively young age structure, a high rate of natural increase, net out-migration, and high population density and levels of urbanization.
