    Abstract:
    The author reviews the literature on immigration to Canada from 1608 to 1760, the period of French colonial administration. He suggests that conventional estimates of immigration from France considerably underestimate the level of actual immigration. He shows that approximately 30,000 immigrants came from France during this period, rather than the 10,000 normally accepted in the literature. (summary in ENG, SPA)
