    Abstract:
    The mortality of the adult foreign population living in Belgium at the time of the 1970 census is examined by cause of death, region of residence, nationality, and sex. A method proposed by Keyfitz for studying the variance of standardized indices is used to carry out a differential analysis of mortality. The problems of selection resulting from migration are also studied. The findings reveal differences in mortality between the foreign and Belgian populations and among the foreign population by nationality. (summary in ENG)
