    Concerns and priorities common to regions around the world regarding the formulation and implementation of population and development policies and programs are described. Feedback from the five regional conferences is presented in sections on population growth and population structure; the interrelationship between population variables, the environment, and sustainable development; inequality and poverty; environmentally friendly technologies; maternal and child health care; family planning and reproductive health care; sexually transmitted diseases, HIV, and AIDS; the role of men; youth and adolescents; abortion; improvement of the status and role of women; productive and reproductive rights of women; women and education; women and the economy; women and health; urbanization; internal migration; international migration; refugees and asylum-seekers; nongovernmental organization (NGO) involvement; strengthening NGOs; data collection and analysis; research and training; international cooperation; resource mobilization; political commitment; and regional needs related to refugees and international cooperation in the ECA region; aging, international migration, and transition in the ECE region; teen pregnancies and abortion, sterilization, and indigenous people in the ECLAC region; migration, migrants, refugees, and international cooperation in the ESCWA region; and migration, aging, and international cooperation in the ESCAP region.
