    Abstract:
    This Law creates an allowance for raising children for persons domiciled in Luxembourg and effectively resident there who rear in their home one or more children under the age of two on whose behalf they or their spouse living in the same household receive family allowances and who devote themselves principally to bringing the children up, do not exercise a professional activity, and do not receive substitute income. A person who exercises a professional activity may be entitled to the allowance if the income of that person and the income of the nonseparated spouse of that person or domestic partner of that person does not exceed certain limits. The allowance is set at Fr. 2000 per month per household, regardless of the number of children raised.
