Title: [Restructuring in Mexico and the United States and international migration]. Author: Escobar Latapi A. Journal: Rev Eur Migr Int; 1995; 11(2):73-95. PubMed ID: 12291047. Abstract: "This article relates some of the new trends in Mexican migration to the United States to the various moments, forms and intensities of restructuring in both countries. It states that the new forms of precarious employment in Mexico have to do not just with the size of migrant flows and migrants' socioeconomic characteristics, but with the responses of host populations. It ends by stating that Mexican migrants will become more and more irritating to middle class Americans if the types of jobs being created in Mexico do not change."
