    Abstract:
    An overall picture of current migration trends in Europe is presented, with particular reference to the problems of employment in the 1980s. The author points out that of Europe's 11 million migrants, over 4 million are the children of foreign workers. These children have difficulty in obtaining suitable educational and professional training and, consequently, employment. The economic and political problems that this situation is likely to produce in the 1980s are discussed. (summary in ENG, FRE)
